design and planning
From the first point of contact we listen to your brief and individual requirements to establish in detail exactly what you are looking for. This enables us to provide specialist professional advice on the best possible concept. If practical we will then arrange to visit you, where examples of our work will be shown along with suitable wood and veneer samples. We will then discuss with you and make suggestions on the design and finish that would best suit your idea. Once an idea has been established sketches will be drawn with the detail and dimensions, to enable us to provide a firm cost for the making of your project, and an indication on the time scale required.
Further detailed scaled drawings can then be produced for your approval. Once you are agreed on the design and cost and a final selection of materials and fittings has been made, we ask for a 50% deposit to cover the materials and costs involved. Following commitment to the project, materials and fittings will be purchased and the production of your piece will begin. Your chosen project will be crafted by hand, using traditional tools, machines and techniques, and will be an item you will treasure. A confirmed delivery date will be given when the build is advanced enough for accuracy to be assured. The remaining 50% of the agreed cost is payable upon completion and delivery of the finished piece.
